Royal Enfield has been working on a roadster for quite some time now. As per media reports, it is being speculated that the Chennai-based manufacturer is planning to launch Hunter 350 in June in the country. The test mules of the bike have been spotted doing test runs on the Indian roads on multiple occasions in the past.
Design-wise, the Hunter 350 gets Royal Enfield’s signature retro-styling. It takes inspiration from Triumph’s Bonneville series. Having said that, the bike features a round-shaped headlight and tail light. In addition, it gets a teardrop-shaped fuel tank and round rear-view mirrors. In terms of features, the upcoming Hunter 350 will be seen flaunting a console with a Tripper Navigation pod as an option similar to the one present on Meteor 350. Other features that the bike will be borrowing from the latter include double-cradle chassis, y-shaped alloy wheels, handgrips, and a lever. Besides these, the new Hunter 350 will feature a small & shorter swingarm, grab handles, new rear suspension, mudguards, and a single-piece seat.
Performance-wise, the upcoming Hunter 350 is likely to draw its power from the same 349cc, single-cylinder engine that does duty on the Meteor 350 and Classic 350. In the present state, the engine churns out a top power of 20 bhp and a peak torque of 27 Nm while being mated to a 5-speed gearbox. In terms of the brake, the bike will get discs on both ends along with dual-channel ABS.
Taking about the price, we can expect the upcoming Hunter 350 to cost around Rs 1.7 lakhs (ex-showroom). Once launched in the Indian market, the bike will rival the likes of Honda CB350 RS and Jawa Forty Two 2.1.
